Military Kids & Stress - Pets help

Pets Help with Military Stress!

This study examined 300 middle and high school students who had parents apart of active military. Of those whom had a currently deployed parent, most of them had a strong bond with a pet.

To be able to cope with stress, the relationship between the child and the pet has to be close. Not just having the pet indoors.

Due to this research - many military installations have subsidized horse stables, dog and cat kennels, and vet clinics. Military housing doesn't charge extra for allowing pets to stay in the houses on the base. However, they will not pay for them to be ship overseas.
